MC33566 Dropout Regulator designed computer peripheral card applications complying with instantly available requirements specified ACPI objectives. MC33566 permits glitch-free transitions from "sleep" "active" system modes internal logic circuitry detect whether system being powered from motherboard main power supply supply. MC33566 provides regulated output voltage either internal dropout V-to-3.3 voltage regulator external P-channel MOSFET, depending operating status system which card installed. During normal operating mode (5.0 main supply available) output provided from internal dropout regulator output current When motherboard enters sleep mode, MC33566 operates from supply routes current output external P-channel MOSFET bypass transistor controlled drive pin. result, output voltage provided peripheral card remains constant even during host systems transitions from sleep mode.
