GENERAL DESCRIPTION
ADG918/ADG919 wideband switches using CMOS process provide high isolation insertion loss GHz. ADG918 absorptive (matched) switch having terminated shunt legs, while ADG919 reflective switch. APPLICATIONS Filter Selection
ADG918/ADG919 ideal solutions power, high frequency applications. insertion loss, high isolation between ports, distortion, current consumption these parts make them excellent solutions many high frequency switching applications. most obvious application transmit/receive block, shown wireless metering block diagram Figure Other applications include switching between high frequency filters, generator, generator, antenna diversity switch many tuner modules.

ADG918 absorptive (matched) switch with terminated shunt legs, ADG919 reflective switch with terminated shunts ground. ADG918 absorptive switch good VSWR each port, regardless switch mode. absorptive switch should used when there need good VSWR that looking into port passing through signal common port. ADG918 therefore ideal applications that require minimum reflections back source. also ensures that maximum power transferred load. ADG919 reflective switch suitable applications where high port VSWR does matter switch some other desired performance feature. used many applications, including high speed filter selection. most cases, absorptive switch used instead reflective switch, vice versa.
Wireless Metering
ADG9xx evaluation board allows designers evaluate high performance wideband switches with minimum effort. prove that these devices meet user's requirements, user only requires power supply network analyzer along with evaluation board. application note available with evaluation board gives complete information operating evaluation board. port (see Figure connected through transmission line left connector connected through transmission lines connectors respectively. through transmission line connects this transmission line used estimate loss over environmental conditions being evaluated. board constructed 4-layer, material with dielectric constant overall thickness 0.062 inches. ground layers with grounded planes provide ground transmission lines. transmission lines were designed using coplanar waveguide with ground plane model using trace width 0.052 inches, clearance ground plane 0.030 inches, dielectric thickness 0.029 inches, metal thickness 0.0014 inches.
ADG918 used wireless metering applications. used conjunction with ADF7020 transceiver utility metering transceiver application, providing required isolation between transmit receive signals. SPDT configuration isolates high frequency receive signal from high frequency transmit.
