GENERAL DESCRIPTION
MSM6587 serial register 524,288 words configuration featuring medium speed operation with low-power consumption. MSM6587 built-in internal address generator circuit allowing continuous serial read/write operation external clock input. internal address automatically incremented decremented read/write operation. Address increment decrement selected external input. Address designation units 1024 words direction words possible external serial address input. refresh timer refresh counter built eliminate need external refresh circuit realize power consumption. 18-pin plastic (PLCC) used package operating temperature range between 70°C. MSM6587 suitable storing large capacity data with battery backup. solid state recording playback system easily constructed combination with OKI's voice synthesizer ICs.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
Serial Address Input (SAD) inputting start address read/write. Address data input units 1024 words. 1,024 address data input 10-bit (A0-A9) serial from pin. (A0-A8 enable address, keeps "L".) Serial Address Strobe (SAS) clock used store serial address data into internal register. Address Transfer Strobe (TAS) Input setting serial address data stored address register internal address counter. When falls, address address increment mode address 1023 decrement mode. Read/Write Clock (RWCK) Input data register information read/write clock. Internal operation starts falling edge RWCK. information data register output DOUT read mode, information written into data register write mode. internal address counter automatically incremented decremented also when RWCK falls. Write Enable (WE) Input selecting read mode, write mode read modify write mode. read mode when "H", write mode when "L". When falls from while RWCK active, read modify write mode set. Data Input (DIN) Input write data. information data input stored falling edge RWCK write mode, falling edge read modify write mode. Data Output (DOUT) data output always kept high impedance state when RWCK kept "H". When information read read operation, output holds read information until RWCK again "H". early write mode output maintains high impedance state, common operation connecting DOUT possible. Address Up/Down Select (AU/D) Input selecting direction automatic address updating. When signal input with AU/D "H", internal address counters externally address address Then address incremented every time RWCK input. When signal input with AU/D "L", internal address counters externally address same address 1023 Then address decremented every time RWCK input. either case, address automatically incremented decremented when read/write operation 1024 words ends. AU/D setting change possible read/write cycle long timing specifications tUDS, tUDH satisfied.

Self/Auto Refresh Select (RS/A (TEST)) selecting refresh mode order retain memory cell data. RS/A level, self-refresh mode selected external refresh control required. RS/A level, auto-refresh mode selected refresh operation required retain memory cell data. Refresh Clock Input (RFSH (TEST)) Input controlling external refresh when auto refresh mode selected. When auto-refresh mode selected, 1024 refresh operations required within 100ms RFSH while RWCK level. Fast Access Mode Select (FAM (TEST)) fast read/write operations. Fast read/write possible keeping level. fast access mode released inputting level level when RWCK level, when satisfied. When 1024-word data access complete, sure insert normal cycle order increment decrement address. Test (TEST, TEST) TEST fixed level. TEST fixed level. Turning power stabilize device, required pause over 100ms after reaches specified voltage. Then needed eight more RWCK cycles (read cycles pseudo data write cycles).
