Fixed Frequency White Driver
EV0056 evaluation board designed backlights using white LEDs. implements MPS' MP1518 fixed frequency step-up converter. MP1518 thin SOT23 step converter designed driving series white LEDs from single cell Lithium battery. MP1518 uses current mode, fixed frequency architecture regulate current, which measured through external current sense resistor. It's 100mV feedback voltage reduces power loss improves efficiency. prevent damage open circuit condition, monitors output voltage turns converter over-voltage condition present. MP1518 includes under-voltage lockout, current limiting thermal overload protection preventing damage event output overload. MP1518 available small lead TSOT23 package.
