General Description
AAT1160 step current mode converter that provides one-channel step-up controller, four Gamma buffers, VCOM buffer. Internal soft-start function efficiently prevent inrush current when power This controller consists on-chip voltage reference, error amplifier, current sense, pulse width modulation controller, under-voltage lockout protection, thermal detect, soft-start, fault protection circuits. Operation Information:
Setting Output Voltage: Output voltage using feedback Compensation: Pin17 (EO) series with compensation, usually range 200k 100pF 6,800pF. Standard formulas
resistor divider; equation follows: =1.265 (1+R1/R2)
Soft-Start: soft-start function embedded with typical
setting 14ms
Operation Frequency Setting: Pin4 (FREQ) operation with =600kHz, operation high with =1.2 MHz. Diode Selection: Schottky diode boost regulator must
only reference purpose, noise parasitic capacitance resistance, often requires board adjustment. steps step-up compensation follows: Transconductance (from CC), (105µS) Current-sense amplifier transresistance, (0.275V/A) continuous conduction, right-half-plane zero frequency RHPZ given following: RHPZ (1-D)2/(2*L* LOAD where D=the duty cycle=1-( inductance value, LOAD maximum output current. Typical target, crossover RHPZ. example, oscillation frequency assumed =500kHz, =2.5V, =5V, =0.5A, then LOAD =10. select L=4.7µH, then: RHPZ =14kHz, would calculated LOAD )(1-D)/2=( selected fulfilled transient-droop requirements. example, transient droop allowed, input error amplifier moves
selected correctly depending output voltage output current. diode must have reverse voltage equal greater than output voltage. addition, diode current must exceed switch current limit lower forward voltage will increase efficiency.
