AEDA-3200-T series (top mounting type) high performance, cost effective, three-channel optical incremental encoder modules. AEDA-3200-T series emphasize high reliability, high resolution easy assembly, using transmissive encoder technology sense rotary position. Outputs AEDA-3200 encoders channel quadrature outputs third channel gated index output. These encoder modules easily mounted customer specific applications with specially designed mechanical alignment tool.

Theory Operation
AEDA-3200 translates rotary motion shaft into three channel digital output. AEDA-3200 series five parts: single light emitting diode (LED) light source, photodetector with uniquely configured photodiodes, interpolator line driver pair lenses. This light used produce internal signals part "push-pull" detector system, these signals through comparators line driver that part signal processing circuitry produce final outputs channels AEDA-3200 available cycles revolution (CPR) 2500 7500. This translates maximum resolution 30000 counts after quadrature decode (4X).
Output Waveforms
Definitions
Count (N): refers cycles revolution (CPR) encoder output. Cycle (C): electrical degrees (°e). Shaft Rotation: mechanical degrees, cycles (rotary motion only). Phase number electrical degrees between center high state channel center high state channel This value nominally 90°e. Pulse Width (P): number electrical degrees that output high-level during cycle, nominally 180°e cycle. Pulse Width Error (P): deviation electrical degrees pulse width from ideal value 180°e. Index Pulse Width (Po): number electrical degrees that index high during full shaft rotation. This value nominally 90°e cycle. State Width (S): number electrical degrees between transition output channel There states cycle, each nominally 90°e. State Width Error (S): deviation electrical degrees each state width from ideal value 90°e.
Direction Motor Rotation
When codewheel rotates clockwise direction, channel will lead channel (Figure illustrates definition clockwise direction codewheel rotation). When codewheel rotates counter-clockwise direction, channel will lead channel

Electrical Interface
Avago recommends National Semiconductor DS26C32AM Quad Differential Line Receiver compatible line receiver. Unused should grounded noise reduction.
