Theory Operation
AEDR-8300-1Wx combines emitter detector single surface mount leadless package. When used with codewheel linear codestrip, encoder translates rotary linear motion into digital outputs. seen block diagram, AEDR-83001Wx consists three major components: light emitting diode (LED) light source, detector consisting photodiodes lens focus light beam from emitter well light falling detector.

Pulse Width (P): duration high state output, electrical degree, within cycle. Nominally 180°e half cycle. Pulse Width Error (P): deviation pulse width, electrical degree, from ideal value 180°e. Count (N): number window pair revolution (CPR) codewheel. linear codestrip, defined number window pair unit length (lines inch [LPI] lines [LPmm]). Cycle (C): electrical degrees (°e). Equivalent window pair.

When codewheel coupled motor, encoder outputs then direct representation motor rotation. same concept applies codestrip detect linear motion.
Shaft Rotation: mechanical degrees. Also equivalent counts (codewheel only). Line Density: number window pair unit length, expressed either lines inch (LPI) lines (LPmm). Optical radius (Rop): distance between codewheel center centerline between domes encoder. (G): distance from surface encoder surface codewheel codestrip. Radial Tangential Misalignment Error (ER, ET): rotary motion, mechanical displacement radial tangential directions relative nominal alignment. Angular Misalignment Error Angular displacement encoder relative tangential line. Specular Reflectance (Rf): amount incident light reflected surface. Quantified terms percentage incident light. spectrometer used measure specular reflectance surface (contact factory more information).
