SteelVine SiI5723 storage processor low-cost, single chip solution designed built into DVRs, motherboards consumer electronics devices. features 3Gbps SATA host interface eSATA capable device ports. SiI5723 features Silicon Image's proprietary eSATA based capacity expansion, which allows users grow capacity existing SteelVine enabled device adding additional drives that appear host system additional space existing SteelVine volume. SteelVine SiI5723 storage processor extends capabilities consumer electronics devices well motherboards adding eSATA, capacity expansion, drive locking, singlebutton backup support other advanced storage features single chip that easily integrates with existing designs SATA connection. Drive locking helps protect users' data allowing them password `lock' directly attached cascaded drives. locked drive detached from assigned computer cascade, data drive will inaccessible until reconnected unlocked with user supplied password. SiI5723 storage processors support JBOD following RAID modes: FAST (RAID SAFE (RAID (Concatenation) well multi-RAID modes, SAFE33, SAFE50. Multi-RAID modes automatically create virtual volumes, SAFE other BIG, designed balance benefits capacity protection with only drives.
