Name Reset (Reset) Description Active Ground Active High This active low. Pulling this forces reset. After high transition reset remains asserted exactly reset timeout period. This internally pulled high. this function unused then float this Vdd. Watch Input. transition this will reset Watch timer. this remains high longer than Watch interval then reset asserted. Float tri-state this disable Watch feature. Positive power supply. reset asserted after this voltage drops below predetermined level. After rises above that level reset remains asserted until reset timeout period.

Application Information
TS823/824/825 designed interface with reset input microprocessor prevent execution errors power power down, other power supply errors. TS823/824 also monitor health checking signal transitions form input. Reset Output Active reset outputs denoted RESET, Active high reset output denoted (RESET), reset will asserted three things happen: drops below threshold (Vth) pulled low. does detect transition within Watch interval (TWD) reset will remain asserted prescribed reset interval after: rises above threshold (Vth) goes high Watch timer have timed causing reset assert. Manual Reset Input TS823 TS825 feature manual reset feature (MR). logic asserts reset. reset remains asserted long remains low. After transitions high state reset remains asserted prescribed reset interval (TD2). internally pulled 100K resistor. internally de-bounced reject switching transients. protected diodes connected Gnd. should never driven higher than lower than Gnd. Watchdog Input TS823 TS824 equipped with watchdog input (WDI). microprocessor does produce valid logic edge watchdog input (WDI) within prescribed watchdog interval (TWD) then reset asserts. reset remains asserted required reset interval (TD2). reset interval reset deasserted watchdog interval timer starts again from zero. watchdog input left unconnected connected tri-stated buffer watchdog function disabled. soon input driven either high watchdog function resumes with watchdog timer zero. Watchdog Input Current watchdog input (WDI) typically sources/sinks when driven high low. from power dissipation point view duty cycle waveform unimportant. When floating tri-stated power supply current fall less than 3uA. Glitch Rejection TS823/824/825 family will reject negative going transients line some extent. smaller duration transient larger amplitude without triggering reset. "Glitch Rejection" chart graphs section this datasheet shows relation between glitch amplitude allowable glitch duration avoid unintended resets. Accurate Output State With voltage order transistor threshold (<1V) outputs TS823/824/825 become undefined. parts with active output RESET resistor placed between RESET order 100K will ensure that RESET output stays when lower than threshold voltage part. like manner resistor order 100K when placed between (RESET) will ensure parts with active high output (RESET) will remain high when lower than threshold voltage parts.
