Functional Block Diagram shown Figure voltage. LIGHT LOAD OPERATION Under light load conditions, automatically enters power-saving mode extending time. This reduces switching losses allows ACT6305 maintain high efficiency across very wide load range. MAIN CONTROL LOOP ACT6305 control architecture utilizes series one-shot current sense circuits regulate output voltage with very quiescent supply current just 17µA. cycle begins when falls below ACT6305's internal reference voltage. During cycle, N-channel power switch turned connect node ground, transferring energy from input supply inductor. cycle persists until either maximum time exceeded current limit reached. When either these conditions occur, N-channel power switch turns cycle begins. During cycle, energy stored inductor released into output capacitor load through synchronous rectifier. Once minimum time expires, another cycle begins when voltage drops below reference VOLTAGE START ACT6305 uses proprietary start-up circuitry that allows achieve very voltage startup down 0.95V. ACT6305 remains low-voltage startup mode until VOUT exceeds 1.85V. ACT6305 cannot support it's full rated load current when operating low-voltage startup mode, care should taken minimize load current during startup. SHUTDOWN shutdown mode, internal circuits including power switch synchronous rectifier disabled, reducing quiescent supply current less than 1µA. Note that shutdown mode path from input supply output still exists body diode synchronous rectifier.
