SNOW BOARD REFERENCE DESIGN SCHEMATIC ERRORS This section describes errors required corrections schematics provided with SNOW Board Reference Design.
Colliding Signals Expansion Interface error occurs when SNOW boards mated through ring expansion interface. page SNOW Board Reference Design schematics, pins SS28, SS29, SS30, SS31 connected octal buffer/line driver (U2). output signals GDAT3/SDMTOCLK2, GDAT4/SDMTOCLK3, GDAT5, GDAT6 connect signals SYS_ADD<21.0> page These signals connect pins A74, A73, A67, expansion interface connector shown page mated SNOW board will receive these signals mirror image expansion interface. Pins A28, A29, A33, mated SNOW Board's ring expansion connector will receive output signals A74, A73, A67, first SNOW Board. Pins A28, A29, A33, signals EXP_GDAT3/SDMTOCLK2, EXP_GDAT4/SDMTOCLK3, EXP_GDAT5, EXP_GDAT6 which change name SS_I<28>, SS_I<29>, SS_I<30>, SS_I<31> shown page page these signals connect output octal buffer/line driver (U2). Notice that output octal buffer/line driver (U2) SNOW board connected output octal buffer/line driver (U2) mated SNOW board. collision occurs between buffers, where both buffers drive signals each other. This causes unusual power consumption board sporadic errors, pattern loss, loss pointer, other unusual error signals when SNOW boards connected together. Since SS28, SS29, SS30, SS31 crucial reference design, they removed from ring expansion interface either removing octal buffer/line driver (U2) disabling buffer (U2) connecting either high.
