DESCRIPTION
Si91822 300-mA CMOS (low dropout) voltage regulator. device features ultra ground current dropout voltage prolong battery life portable electronics. Si91822 offers line/load transient response ripple rejection superior that bipolar BiCMOS regulators. device designed maintain regulation while delivering 600-mA peak current. This useful systems that have high surge current upon turn-on. Si91822 designed drive lower cost ceramic, well tantalum, output capacitors. device guaranteed stable from maximum load current down 0-mA load. addition, external noise bypass capacitor connected device's CNOISE will lower LDO's output noise noise applications.
Si91822 also includes out-of-regulation error flag. When output voltage below nominal output voltage, error flag output goes low. capacitor connected device's delay pin, error flag output will generate delayed power-on-reset signal.

Noise bypass pin. noise applications, 0.01-mF larger ceramic capacitor should connected from this ground. Capacitor connected from this ground will allow delayed power-on-reset signal ERROR (Pin output. Refer Figure Ground pin. Local ground CNOISE COUT. Input supply pin. DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Si91822 drop out, quiescent current, very linear regulator family with very fast transient response. primarily designed battery powered applications where battery time premium. quiescent current allows extended standby time while drop voltage enables system fully utilize battery power before recharge. Si91822 very fast regulator with bandwidth exceeding while maintaining quiescent current light load conditions. With this bandwidth, Si91822 fastest available today. Si91822 stable with output capacitor type from 10.0 However, ceramic capacitors recommended best output noise transient performance. input supply pin. bypass capacitor this critical long input supply enough source impedance. practical circuits, 1.0-mF larger ceramic capacitor recommended. When source impedance enough and/or source several inches from Si91822, then larger input bypass capacitor needed. required that equivalent impedance (source impedance, wire, trace impedance parallel with input bypass capacitor impedance) must smaller than input impedance Si91822 stable operation. When source impedance, wire, trace impedance unknown, recommended that input bypass capacitor used value that equal greater than output capacitor. VOUT VOUT output voltage regulator. Connect bypass capacitor from VOUT ground. output capacitor value from 10.0 ceramic capacitor with dielectric type recommended best output noise, line transient, load transient performance. Ground common ground connection VOUT. also local ground connection CNOISE, DELAY, SENSE ADJ, SENSE SENSE used sense output voltage.
