Winbond Mega Flash supply change, W29C020C part been replaced W49F002 part. this change, customers should notice following engineering issues.
RESET Connection Issue
W49F002 configuration, defined RESET pin; while W29C020C, (please refer both datasheets details). When using these parts exchange, following issues should noticed. When system's reset signal connects part's RESET pin, there incompatible issue. part will function normally. When system's power supply connects part's RESET pin, there incompatible issue. part will function normally. When part's RESET remains connection (NC), there incompatible issue. part will function normally. system's power supply connects part's RESET pin, this will inhibit Boot Block Lockout function. However, from design viewpoint, part's Read/Write function will work normally. Since Winbond will provide test this aspect, switching power design imperfection causes surge voltage over when power Part will damaged. this case, still suggest customers previous three solutions avoid risk.

BIOS vendors such AMI, AWARD Phoenix have already provided BIOS support this part. Customers contact them, necessary.
