Description AAT1204 multi-input low-dropout regulator that provides constant output supply 3.3V output capable driving 400-mA load. AAT1204 provides regulated power output systems that have multiple input sources require constant voltage source with low-dropout voltage. This intelligent power source selection device with low-dropout regulator either VCC50 VSB50 inputs, low-resistance bypass switch AUX33 input. Transitions occur from input supply another without generating glitch outside specification range 3.3-V output. device incorporated reverse-blocking scheme prevent excess leakage from input terminals event that output voltage greater than input voltage. input voltage prioritized following order: VCC50, VSB50, AUX33.

THERMAL INFORMATION ensure reliable operation device, junction temperature output device must within safe operating areaSOA. This achieved having means dissipate heat generated from junction output structure. There components that contribute thermal resistance. They consist paths series. first junction case thermal resistance, RJC; second case ambient thermal resistance, RCA. overall junction ambient thermal resistance, RJA, determined RJARJCRCA ability efficiently dissipate heat from junction function package style board layout incorporated application. operating junction temperature determined operation ambient temperature, junction power dissipation, junction temperature, equal following thermal equation TJTAPJRJCPJRCA TJTAPJRJA This particular application uses 8-pin package with standard lead frame with dedicated ground terminal. Hence, maximum power dissipation allowable operating ambient temperature maximum junction temperature determined PJTJTA/ PJ15070/701.1W Worst case maximum power dissipation determined Normal operating maximum power dissipation Note: thermal characteristics AAT1204 were measured using double-sided board with square inches copper area connected pins "heat spreading". multi-layer board construction with power planes will further enhance thermal performance package.
