Precautions Using H8/3160 Series E6000 Emulator
Thank purchasing H8/3160 series E6000 emulator. Please note following when using this version H8/3160 series E6000 emulator.
Emulator Specifications
Operating Environment
system software H8/3160 series E6000 emulator provided 3.5-type floppy disk. Please prepare following establish operable environment. Host computer: with Pentium® higher-performance processor (Pentium® higher recommended) Windows® Windows® Windows later. Cannot initiated Windows® 3.1. Minimum memory capacity: Mbytes (double recommended load module size) Hard-disk capacity: Installation disk capacity: Mbytes more Initiation disk capacity: least double memory capacity (four-times more recommended) 3.5-type (2HD) floppy disk drive (for installation) Monitor with resolution (800 more recommended) Interface: Desktop slot that operate MHz, slot LAN(10 BASE-T/100 BASE-TX based IEEE 802.3) Notebook PCMCIA(Cannot initiated Windows NT®) LAN(10 BASE-T/100 BASE-TX based IEEE 802.3) Mouse (Compatible pointing device)
Precautions Using Emulator
Modification attribution Reserved area from address H'FFD0 cannot changed emulation memory. code display invalid when address range specified trace acquisition condition. code display only reference.
Trace
Note: Microsoft®, Windows®, Microsoft® Windows® operating system, Microsoft® Windows® operating system, Microsoft® Windows Workstation operating system Version 4.0, Microsoft® Windows® operating system Version registered trademarks Microsoft Corporation United States and/or other countries.
Temporary Breakpoint
Run. (Run menu) temporary breakpoints area wherein Break (User Read-only) cannot set. set, user program execution will stop breakpoint. Moreover, Chip Breakpoint remain. this case, delete breakpoint from [Breakpoints] window.
Monitor
Execution status display status memory access wait, address where access halted, next fetched address displayed.
Load/Save Session File
Load file after confirm that environment same that when last session file loaded. Note that operation become incorrect when Target Clock chosen time when session file saved Target connected time when session file loaded.
Load Memory
During loading memory, loading stopped [Halt] from [Run] menu, there responses from seconds. loading file, [Load Program] from [File] menu.
[Disassembly] Window
address specification open [Disassembly] window, when value larger than maximum absolute address input, contents last address displayed. this case, perform scrolling with scroll scroll [Disassembly] window. nothing displayed Code Assembly column [Memory] window [Disassembly] window, close open again [Memory] window [Disassembly] window.
[Trace] Window
Note when Number Acquired Records When number acquired trace records trace result displayed [Trace] window. data displayed [Trace] window even "Trace record filter)" displayed title [Trace] window, open [Trace] window again. When trace acquired with trace window opened when number acquired records displayed data illegal. Update data reopening [Trace] window. Note when Time Stamp Setting Changed Even valid/invalid setting Time Stamp switched [Trace Acquisition] dialog box, header character string [Trace] window changed. When valid/invalid setting switched, open [Trace] window again. Filter When trace filter function used, information Address Source columns [Trace] window does match. When filter function used, ignore source information displayed Source column.
[Memory Mapping] Dialog
Even [Reset] button clicked, mapping information reset default setting. When mapping information reset default setting, once close [Memory Mapping] dialog with [Close] button after clicking [Reset] button.
2.10 Note Setting Change Operation from Column
When execution time measurement start point (+Time) trace start point (+Trace) clicked with right mouse button, pop-up menu displayed. item this pop-up menu changed another one. this case, change item with double-clicking from [Breakpoints] window [Trace] window directly.
2.11 Note Program Downloading
verify check [Load Program] dialog box, which opened selecting [Load Program.] from [File] menu, always valid. When downloading without verification, specify option without verification with FILE_LOAD command from [Command Line] window.
2.12 Note [Registers] Window Operation during Program Execution
During program execution, when [Registers] window double-clicked, dialog change register contents displayed. However, operation change register contents during program execution becomes invalid.
2.13 [Breakpoints] Window
During user program execution, impossible jump corresponding source line address line [Source] [Disassemble] window from breakpoint using Source pop-up menu that displayed [Breakpoints] window.
2.14 [I/O Registers] Window
E6000 does support invalid module display information display [I/O Registers] window (described section Displaying Variables, Hitachi Debugging Interface User's Manual).
2.15 Compare Memory
Compare Memory function, which used selecting [Compare.] from [Memory] menu, supported.
2.16 [Select Function] Dialog
E6000 does support software breakpoint setting [Select Function] dialog (described section Selecting Functions, Hitachi Debugging Interface User's Manual).
2.17 Note [Fill Memory] Dialog
start addresses specified [Fill Memory] dialog box. When start address value larger than address value, note that addresses filled from start.
2.18 Note Radix [Register] Dialog
default input radix [Register] dialog hexadecimal regardless Radix setting. want input radix other than hexadecimal, specify prefix code such After value been input [Register] dialog box, Radix setting changed hexadecimal. want default radix other than hexadecimal, reset Radix.
2.19 Note Moving Source File Position after Creating Load Module
When source file moved after load module been created, [Open] dialog box, which specifies source file, displayed during debugging created load module. Select corresponding source file click [Open] button.
2.20 Source-Level Execution
Source file display source files that correspond load module program window. file having same name source file that corresponds load module, only addresses displayed program window. file cannot operated program window. Step Even standard libraries executed. return higher-level function, enter Step Out. statement while statement, executing single step does move execution next line. move next line, execute steps.
2.21 Watch
Local variables optimization Depending generated object code, local variables source file that compiled with optimization option enabled will displayed correctly. Check generated object code displaying [Disassembly] window. Variable name specification When name other than variable name, such symbol name function name, specified, data displayed. Example: function name main. main
Array display When array elements exceed 1000, elements from after 1000 will displayed. Modification variable contents When modifying variable contents, select Japanese character string input data type. Japanese character string input, Localized Dump.
2.22 Line Assembly
Input radix Regardless Radix setting, default line assembly input decimal. Specify radix hexadecimal input. Address space size absolute addressing mode, specify size (:16, etc.)
2.23 Command Line Interface
Batch file display message "Not currently available" while executing batch file, enter sleep command. Adjust sleep time length which differs according operating environment. Example: display "Not currently available" during memory_fill execution: sleep d'3000 memory_fill ffff Overwrite file Command Line Interface, file having same name output file overwritten without asking user.
2.24 Usage with Another
Automatic load session files Since emulator cannot another HDI, re-install this whenever another been previously installed used. another been used, initiate this with "Run" follows without using session files. <Directory path name which installed>\hdi (RET) initiates without loading recently used session files. there another session file different debug platform, following error message displayed: invalid target system: <recently used debug platform name>
2.25 Limitations when Using Version Windows
When using released version (4.00.950a, etc.) Windows illegal operation occur; example, abnormally terminated application error [Options.] selected from [Setup] menu. This because version COMCTL32.DLL System directory Windows directory. Download updated program COMCTL32.DLL from Microsoft homepage, update version Windows
