The TD2000 series is a thermal dispersion type flow switch. It provides a simple, dependable method of sensing gas flows and provides a switched relay output if the flow rate exceeds a predetermined limit. The output is signaled by an LED status indication. The TD2000 series is self contained and virtually maintenance free because of its solid state design. The sensor can be easily and steplessly field calibrated to any flow between 1.5 and 60 ft. per sec. (FPS)
This low cost, very effective flow sensing solution uses the thermal dispersion, or calorimetric principle. The differential between a slightly heated element and a temperature sensing element is measured. If the temperature sensor registers a decline in temperature due to gas flow removing heat from the junction, a switched output is activated. Solid state logic provides a low cost, highly accurate design that provides years of reliable service.

The TD2000 series is designed for industrial or commercial uses. It can be applied to any gas flow switching requirement that meets the specification limitations of the product. One such common application is as an air flow switch for building HVAC systems. The sensor is equipped with a mounting flange that can be easily fastened through the wall of sheet metal duct work. Two machine screws are all that are required to mount the switch. Another common TD2000 series application is on fume hoods for electroplating, semiconductor manufacturing, or battery production.
