BiMOS LATCHED DRIVERS
UCN5800A/L UCN5801A/EP/LW latched-input BiMOS merge high-current, high-voltage outputs with CMOS logic. CMOS input section consists data (`D' type) latches with associated common CLEAR, STROBE, OUTPUT ENABLE circuitry. power outputs bipolar Darlingtons. This merged technology provides versatile, flexible interface. These BiMOS power interface greatly benefit simplification computer microprocessor I/O. UCN5800A UCN5800L each contain four latched drivers; UCN5801A, UCN5801EP, UCN5801LW contain eight latched drivers. UCN5800A/L UCN5801A/EP/LW supersede original BiMOS latched-input driver (UCN4400A UCN4801A). These second-generation devices capable much higher data input rates will typically operate better than with logic supply. Circuit operation affords substantial improvement over figure. CMOS inputs compatible with standard CMOS NMOS circuits. circuits mandate addition input pull-up resistors. bipolar Darlington outputs suitable directly driving many peripheral/power loads: relays, lamps, solenoids, small motors, etc. devices have open-collector outputs integral diodes inductive load transient suppression. output transistors capable sinking will withstand least state. Because limitations package power dissipation, simultaneous operation drivers maximum rated current only accomplished reduction duty cycle. Outputs paralleled higher load current capability. UCN5800A furnished standard 14-pin DIP; UCN5800L UCN5801LW surface-mountable SOICs; UCN5801A 22-pin with 0.400" (10.16 centers; UCN5801EP 28-lead PLCC.
