Interfacing with Bidirectional Reset Pins
Since RESET output MAX6334 open-drain, this device interfaces easily with that have bidirectional reset pins, such Motorola 68HC11. Connecting supervisor's RESET output directly microcontroller's (µC's) RESET with single pull-up resistor allows either device assert reset (Figure

Negative-Going Transients addition issuing reset during power-up, power-down, brownout conditions, these devices relatively immune short-duration, negative-going transients (glitches). Typical Operating Characteristics show Maximum Transient Duration Reset Comparator Overdrive graph. graph shows maximum pulse width that negative-going transient typically have without issuing reset signal. amplitude transient increases, maximum allowable pulse width decreases. Ensuring Valid Reset Output Down
When falls below approaches minimum operating voltage 0.7V, push/pull-structured reset sinking sourcing) capabilities decrease drastically. High-impedance CMOS-logic inputs connected RESET drift indeterminate voltages. This does present problem most cases, since most circuitry operate below MAX6333, where RESET must valid down adding pull-down resistor between RESET removes stray leakage currents, holding RESET (Figure 2a). pull-down resistor value critical; 100k large enough load RESET small enough pull low. MAX6332, where RESET must valid 100k pull-up resistor between RESET will hold RESET high when falls below 0.7V (Figure 2b). Since MAX6334 open-drain, active-low output, typically uses pull-up resistor. With this device, RESET will most likely maintain active condition, will drift non-active level pull-up resistor reduced sinking capability opendrain device. Therefore, this device recommended applications where RESET required valid down
