June 24, 2005 Name Company Mail Stop Address City, State ZIP Code Dear Customer: Aeroflex Colorado Springs (Aeroflex) appreciates your use of our 5-volt (5V) 4M and 16M Quantified Commercial-Off-The Shelf (QCOTSTM) SRAM over the last five years. As you know, the QCOTS SRAM products are qualified for use in space on a wafer lot basis. Changes in the commercial die source from Revision C to Revision D silicon resulted in a product that was not suitable for use in space-borne electronic systems, and we are faced with a finite supply of the 5V 4M QCOTS SRAM product (part numbers UT9Q512K8 UT9Q512K8 and UT9Q512K32 UT9Q512K32). The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the die inventory of our 5V 4M QCOTS SRAM's is projected to exhaust in 6 to 8 months depending on demand. Standard Microcircuit Drawings (SMDs) affected by the finite die supply situation are 5962-00536 and 5962-01511. Aeroflex will continue to offer the remaining die and product on a first come, first serve basis until the inventory is exhausted. All package types, speed grades, manufacturing flows, etc., shown in the SMD and Datasheet, remain valid product offerings at this time. To insure flight material, Aeroflex may discontinue prototype sales once the finished, prototype unit inventory of the 5V 4M and 16M QCOTS SRAM is exhausted. We estimate the discontinuance of prototype grade product in September 2005. Data Sheets for the 3V QCOTS SRAM solutions can be found at www.aeroflex.com/QCOTS. Additionally, Aeroflex is planning development of a 5V 4M SRAM replacement based on existing Aeroflex developed memory technology. The 5V replacement product would be available in early 2006 to a QML Q and V level. At this time, we project the 5V 4M SRAM replacement will be fit, form and function identical to the current 4M product offering. The 16M MCM package will grow due to increased die size.
