The TMOD0110G5XE3 TMOD0110G5XE3 can operate at data rates up to 12.5 Gbits/s (NRZ). The input buffer features grounded 50 terminations (no VTT or bypassing required) and can be driven single endedly or differentially with dc or ac coupled signals as low as 600 mVp-p. The 50 complementary outputs are adjustable to an amplitude of 3.0 V each with typical rise and fall times of 28 ps, making the TMOD0110G5XE3 TMOD0110G5XE3 ideal for driving push/pull M-Z modulators. Pulse-width control circuitry allows the user to adjust the output pulse width to compensate for the characteristics of the EAM/EML. The data output high level can be adjusted between 0 V and 1.0 V (50 load) by means of an internal current source without affecting pulse fidelity or using external inductors. The gain stage provides signal amplification prior to the output stage. The output stage consists of a differential pair, a current source, 50 on die back terminations, and current sources that are used to adjust the data output high level. The output differential pair provides the drive voltage to the load. The output voltage amplitude is user adjustable and controlled by the voltage (VIP) applied to the gate of the current source. An external 1 sense resistor in series with IP allows the user to monitor the output voltage swing (VAMP) by monitoring the total current (IP) in the output stage. The TMOD0110G5XE3 TMOD0110G5XE3 also features an integrated data output high-level adjustment for chirp control. Each of the complementary outputs is connected to an internal current source. The data output high-level is adjusted by applying a dc voltage to the gate of the appropriate current source. The TMOD0110G5XE3 TMOD0110G5XE3 is capable of providing a data output high voltage of up to 1.0 V (RL = 50 ).
