Some of the key functions included in each IC are described in the following two sections. can be easily segregated into individual work groups. Transfer of data between the IP telephone, PC, and the network is possible. This repeater can be bypassed. Prioritization of Real-Time Data IPT_DSP Chip Set (T8301 T8301) Integrated Amplifiers Lucent's EQuB prioritizes the real-time data over the non-real-time data packets by preempting hosts transmitting non-real-time data. All the gain amplifiers are integrated on the T8301 T8301, eliminating the need for external amplification. Data and Instruction Cache Adaptable Acoustic Echo Cancellation The ARM940T ARM940T processor core offers the benefit of 4 Kbytes instruction cache and 4 Kbytes data cache. Adaptable acoustic echo cancellation algorithm automatically adjusts the AEC for the environment (room size, telephone housing, etc.). Advantages of Phone-On-A-Chip Tone Generation Lower Total System Cost DTMF, ringing, and call progress tones are generated by the T8301 T8301. The particular tone is selected via an API command from the T8302 T8302. IPT_ARM Chip Set (T8302 T8302) Phone-On-A-Chip eliminates the need for expensive glue logic. All the required interfaces such as keypad, LED, amplifiers, and PHYs are integrated within the device. The bundled target license fee for Trillium Digital Systems H.323 and RTP/RTCP protocol stack and Wind River Systems VxWorks RTOS reduces cost. Integrated PHY and Repeater Two 10/100 Mbits/s Ethernet PHYs are integrated on the T8302 T8302. This eliminates the need for external PHY and allows the board to have a smaller footprint. A second Ethernet port provides the ability to connect a PC to the network through the Phone-On-A-Chip based telephone. A programmable repeater allows software configuration of multiple segments such that stations Lucent Technologies Inc. High Sound Quality The differential amplifiers the speaker and the microphone are integrated with the product, providing very high sound quality at low cost. 3 T8301/T8302 T8301/T8302 Phone-On-A-Chip IP Solution Advantages of Phone-On-A-Chip (continued) Reduced Development Time A development kit bundled with the required sample source code and binaries gives a jump start for the development of application code that can easily be migrated to target products.
