PM7800 PM7800 PALADIN 10 Released PALADIN 10 Release 03 ACPCE Firmware OVERVIEW into wideband, multi-carrier, highefficiency, digitally controlled amplifier units that can replace expensive, lowefficiency, feedforward-based multicarrier power amplifiers (MCPA) commonly used in many BTS designs. The PALADIN® family of digital multicarrier chip technologies enables the development of spectrally efficient and power efficient 2G and 3G base stations that use fewer and less expensive components than traditional feedforward designs. FEATURES The PALADIN 10 system comprises the Digital Correction Signal Processor (DCSP) PM7800 PM7800 chip and the Adaptive Control Processor Compensation Engine (ACPCE). The DCSP applies corrective parameters to each sample in real time, while the ACPCE automatically adapts the corrective parameters to maintain optimum performance as the distortions change over time. The ACPCE is also responsible for control of the DCSP. PALADIN 10 inhibits distortion in the power amplifier and transmitter chain of cellular base stations using digital adaptive predistortion techniques. The PALADIN 10 solution transforms inexpensive Class AB power amplifiers The current version of the firmware residing on the PALADIN 10 ACPCE processor is PALADIN 10 Release 03. Key features of the PALADIN 10 Release 03 firmware include: PALADIN products include PALADIN 10, PALADIN 15, and PALADIN WaveshaperTM. All PALADIN products make extensive use of proprietary advanced high-speed DSP based architectures and techniques. · Digital adaptive pre-distortion kernel to compute the corrective parameters that compensate for nonlinear distortions in the transmit chain. · Digital adaptive kernel to compute the corrective parameters that compensate for Analog Quadrature Modulator (AQM) distortion for practical zero-IF upconversion. · Digital Automatic Gain Control (AGC) algorithm to stabilize gain in the transmit path. · Automatic adjustment of corrective parameters in response to changing RMS levels. · Over 100 programmable parameters to provide flexible configuration. · Internal signal generator to simplify training during factory calibration. · Support for multi-carrier WCDMA, CDMA2000 CDMA2000 1xRTT, CDMA2000 CDMA2000 1xEV-DO up to 10MHz bandwidth.
