The low dispersion single mode spectrum, coupled with excellent extinction, achieves long-haul transmission up to 640Km. Two models are currently available: ML47B3A-F ML47B3A-F for transmission up to 360 km and ML47B3A-G ML47B3A-G for transmission up to 640km. Packaged in a standard 14-pin butterfly package with a 40dB optical isolator, the module is capable of direct modulation at 2.5 Gbits/s. An internal thermoelectric cooler, together with an internal thermistor, maintains a desired temperature inside the module while the case temperature may vary from 0 to 70°C. The output power from the front facet is controlled by an internal InGaAs photodiode, which monitors the rear facet emission. The module is 50 impedance-matched at the RF input. Wavelength selection in 0.8nm increments is available for dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) applications.
