IT800 IT800 Overview June 2008 Yitran Yitran CONFIDENTIAL 1 1 IT800 IT800 General Overview APPLICATION IT800 IT800 Implements the first three layers in the OSI Model Physical Layer (PHY) activates and maintains the physical link between communication network systems. The PHY defines characteristics such as voltage levels, timing of voltage changes, physical data rates and transmission distances. PRESENTATION SESSION TRANSPORT NETWORK IT800Y IT800Y DLL PHYSICAL (PHY) OSI 7-Layers Network Reference Model Data Link Layer (DLL) provides reliable transit of data across a physical network link. The DLL defines different network and protocol characteristics, including physical addressing, error notification, sequencing of frames and flow control. Network Layer (NL) responsible for end to end packet delivery (routing). In addition to the routing functionalities, the Network Layer provides functions for node addressing and congestion control.
