IP2022 IP2022 Product Brief Internet Processor The IP2022 IP2022 Internet Processor is the first member of a new family of Ubicom Internet Processors that can be programmed, and reprogrammed, using pre-built software modules and configuration tools to create true single-chip solutions for a wide range of device-to-device and device-to-human communication applications. It is optimized for Internet and network connectivity solutions, and is ideally suited for use in the node and bridge/gateway portions of the Internet infrastructure. The IP2022 IP2022 offers substantial capabilities that are specifically intended for the development of highly integrated connected devices, from the communication physical layer interface through application code. The heart of the IP2022 IP2022 is a 100 MIPS RISC engine, complemented with on-chip high-speed flash and SRAM memory. Two full-duplex serializer/deserializers (SerDes) decode data and let it be translated from one format to another, allowing the IP2022 IP2022 to be used as a protocol converter in bridge and gateway applications. Using an on-chip PLL, the IP2022 IP2022 can run off a low-cost 2 MHz crystal. In addition, flexible, software-controllable power-management capabilities are provided to minimize power consumption. Key hardware features added to facilitate software-implemented connectivity functions include a hardware-supported multiply instruction, a slave parallel/host port, an 8-channel, 10-bit ADC, and 52 general-purpose I/O pins. These features provide the ability to do on-chip 10baseT Ethernet (MAC and PHY), USB, and a variety of other fast serial protocols. A TCP/IP network protocol stack is available, and a variety of additional software that is necessary to form a complete end-to-end connectivity solution is being developed. Tools for developing with and using the IP2022 IP2022, including the complete GNU tool suite, are available from leading suppliers.
