MULTICHANNEL FLOATING-POINT AUDIO ENCODER/DECODER POST PROCESSOR DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM OVERVIEW Analog Devices' Pegasus
Pegasus Floating-Point Encoder/Decoder Board MULTICHANNEL FLOATING-POINT AUDIO ENCODER/DECODER POST PROCESSOR DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM OVERVIEW Analog Devices' Pegasus development platform facilitates the design of multichannel audio decoders, encoders and post-processors for home theatre, automotive audio, and portable audio receivers. The standalone PEGASUS board includes an ADSST-21065L ADSST-21065L KS-264 KS-264 SHARC DSP, four AD1855 AD1855 DACs, one stereo AK-5383 AK-5383 ADC, one CS-8414 CS-8414 DAR, four CS-8404 CS-8404 DAT transmitters, one 80C31 80C31 microcontroller, one S/PDIF input, four S/PDIF outputs, an RS-232 RS-232 port and a USB port. The SHARC DSP runs at a clock speed of 60 MHz, a cycle time of 17 ns, and operates at 180 peak MFLOPS. The AD1854 AD1854 24-bit DACs operate at a 96 kHz sample rate and feature 96 dB SNR and 97 dB THD+N @1 kHz. Ordering Information The Analog Devices' multichannel Pegasus Development Platform must be ordered under the part number ADSST-PEGASUS-SDK for the standalone reference design. This includes the evaluation board with an evaluation copy of the software, schematics, etc. Designers of products using this reference design also will be required to sign a license agreement with the respective license holderviz., Dolby Labs., DTS, and Lucasfilm Ltd., to use the appropriate code, and produce proof to Analog Devices of having successfully completed the appropriate licensing procedures before final product can be HIGHLIGHTS · 32-Bit Floating-Point Audio Development Board · Includes decoders for Dolby® Digital, Dolby Digital Consumer Encoding, Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Headphones, HDCD,® DTS,® MLP, PCM, MPEG1 and two Layers 1 and 2, MP3, and Post Processors for HDCD, Lucasfilm THX® Select, Ultra and Surround EX, WaveSurroundTM and SRS® 3D Sound · Encoders for Dolby Digital Consumer Encoding, MPEG1 Audio Layers 1, 2, and 3 (MP3), and MPEG AAC which fully comply with the IEEE 11172-3 standard · Includes evaluation board, sample applications and all necessary software support (drivers, etc.) shipped to them.
