Laser Safety Information All NEC lasers are Class IIIb laser products per CDHR, (Title 21 Code of Federal Regulations, Chapter 1, Subchapter J) Safety requirements (except medical devices). The products comply with sections 1040.10 and 1040.11 of the regulation referenced above. The devices have been classified with FDA under accession numbers 94R0041-03 94R0041-03 and 97R0309-01 97R0309-01, 97R0309-02 97R0309-02 and 04R2796-00 04R2796-00. Because of size constraints, laser safety labeling is not affixed to the module but is attached to the outside of the shipping carton. The laser beam, visible or invisible, directly or indirectly, may cause injury to the eye or loss of eyesight. · Do not look directly into the laser beam. · Avoid exposure to the laser beam, any reflected or collimated beam. The product contains gallium arsenide, GaAs. GaAs vapor and powder are hazardous to human health if inhaled or ingested. · Do not destroy or burn the product. · Do not crush or chemically dissolve the product. · Do not put the product in the mouth. Follow related laws and ordinances for disposal. The product should be excluded from general industrial waste or household garbage. A glass-fiber is attached on the product. Handle with care. · When the fiber is broken or damaged, handle carefully to avoid any injury from the damaged part or fragments.
